Gluten Got You Down?
Gluten is a protein in wheat and certain other grains and is common in the daily diets of most people. However, for some, this protein may cause gastroenterologic symptoms and other body system malfunctions. Leigh Morse, MD, family medicine, will discuss the causes and symptoms of the more common gluten intolerances as well as gluten-sensitive enteropathy, or Celiac disease. She will reveal current findings on the patho-physiology, diagnosis, treatment, and potential lifestyle changes.

AED Heartsaver CPR
Learn when to call 911, how to give CPR, how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and how to provide relief from choking. This course covers American Heart Association techniques for adults and child CPR and AED and infant CPR. Pre-registration required; please no walk-ins.

Depression Screening
The National Depression Screening program provides increased awareness of the signs and symptoms of depression and mental health resources in the community. If you think you may be suffering from depression, bi-polar disorder, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress, call for a confidential, free, one-hour screening with a licensed mental health counselor. We can screen adults and older adolescents. An appointment is required; available in Spanish or English.

Elks Health Risk Assessment
This health screening includes biometric measures: blood pressure, resting pulse, height, weight, waist circumference, and lab tests for cholesterol, triglycerodes, HDL, LDL, and glucose. Remember to FAST—no food or drink except water for 8-12 hours before your appointment. You may take your prescription medications as usual.

The Yeah! Program is a multidisciplinary community-based model created to evaluate and educate children and teens-and their families-who are dealing with obesity. The program provides a unique, comprehensive, family-centered, community approach to addressing the growing epidemic of childhood obesity. YEAH! is available for English and Spanish speaking children who have demonstrated the willingness to participate in this interactive program that encompasses all aspects of adopting a healthy lifestyle.
Medical Nutrition Therapy Counseling
Individual appointments with a dietitian are available to community members for a variety of nutrition topics. These include nutrition as it relates to disease management, prevention, and wellness.
Lifestyle and Weight Management Programs
These interactive classes are offered with a combination of individual and group sessions, led by a dietitian and a team of health care professionals.
Diabetes Self-Management Training Program
Classes are offered to the community through our American Diabetes Association-recognized program, and are taught by a nurse and dietitian team at St. Luke’s Hailey Clinic.

Childbirth Preparation
A six-week series promoting a healthy, safe, and educated birth.
Home Study or Customized Childbirth Preparation
"Class in a basket" childbirth education materials for women who are either high risk or on bed rest and unable to attend regular childbirth preparation classes. Additional customized instruction may be available upon request.
Childbirth Refresher
Offered to parents who have previously taken a childbirth preparation course. Review of relaxation techniques, updated information, and sibling preparation. Includes a tour of the Labor and Delivery suites.

Puberty education for boys ages 9-12 and their parents
These classes are a fun and interactive way to help kids and parents get a better idea about the bodily changes and emotional ups and downs that accompany early adolescence. Topics include anatomy and physiology emotional and physical changes human reproduction relationships with parents and friends, hygiene, body image, and self-esteem.
